Yatsenyuk Arseniy Petrovich

Ukrainian politician, statesman. In 2014-2016, the Prime Minister of Ukraine.

Biography

Arseniy Yatseniuk was born in Chernivtsi in Western Ukraine on 22 may 1974. Childhood in his hometown.
Married to Theresa Viktorovna Yatsenyuk (born in 1970). Has two daughters – Christine (1999) and Sofia (2004).

Education

Secondary school with English as the language of instruction No. 9 and graduated with a silver medal. Very good command of English, so good that even being in high school, I wanted to write a thesis and defend it in English. However, he do not allowed because of insufficient level of knowledge of teachers themselves.
In 1996 graduated from Chernivtsi state University, specialty “Jurisprudence”. By the way, the same University his father taught Peter Ivanovich-Deputy Dean of the history faculty, and his mother Maria Grigorievna worked as a French teacher in a local school.
In 2006 graduated from Chernivtsi trade and Economics Institute Kyiv trade and economic University (speciality – accounting and audit).

Business and political activity

Arseniy knowledge was missing, that is, on the fly – quickly and easily. Moreover, from the second course of lectures at the University, he almost did not appear actively engaged in business.
In December of 1992 (and he was only 18!) Arseniy together with the son of the then Governor of the Chernivtsi oblast Valentin Gnatyshin participated in the establishment of Chernivtsi law firm “Yurek Ltd.”, engaged in privatization. He was “in control” of the company until 1997.
From 1998 to 2001 worked as a consultant of the credit Department at Joint-stock post pension Bank “Aval”, and later – Deputy Chairman of the Bank.

Soon he was appointed acting Minister of economy of Crimea, and in November of this year he became Minister and held that post until January of 2003. His career is rapidly going up.

In 2003-2005 – first Deputy Chairman of the National Bank of Ukraine.
A little less than six months in 2004, was the acting head of the NBU.
Year – 2005-2006 – was the economy Minister in the government of Yuriy Yekhanurov.
In 2006 the President of Ukraine, at that time, Viktor Yushchenko appointed Yatsenyuk first Deputy head of the presidential Secretariat of Ukraine — President’s representative in the Cabinet.

March 21, 2007, Yatsenyuk was approved as the Minister of foreign Affairs of Ukraine and ceased operations in the Secretariat. On the day of his appointment as Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk was included in the national security Council and defense of Ukraine. Despite the lack of professional diplomatic experience and education, he manages to stay afloat.

From December 2007 to November 2008- speaker of the Verkhovna Rada.
At the end of December 2008, created a political party based on public initiative “Front of Changes”.
In 2009, Yatsenyuk has actively started the presidential campaign and the vote took the fourth place.
Since 2012 – people’s Deputy of the VII convocation of the party “Batkivshchyna” (number 2 in the list of the United opposition). In Parliament he headed the faction all-Ukrainian Union “Fatherland”. Member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on matters of pensioners, veterans and persons with disabilities.

In 2013, together with other opposition leaders Vitali Klitschko and Oleg Tyagnibok coordinated protest action in Central Kiev.

February 26, 2014, Yatsenyuk was appointed Prime Minister of Ukraine, and six months later, in November, he was elected people’s Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine VIII convocation.
27 November 2014 the Verkhovna Rada a second time supported the candidacy of Arseniy Yatsenyuk for the post of Prime Minister of Ukraine. For this decision voted 341 MP.

The program of the government Yatsenyuk was approved in December 2014, its key objectives include carrying out reforms in various sectors and the changing social security system in the country. Of course, in the post-revolutionary and war conditions likely to become successful the government Yatsenyuk was not. Many experts believe that Yatsenyuk has not sold a single item from approved program for reasons of unprofessional frame of the Cabinet.

16 February 2016 at the initiative of President Poroshenko, Yatsenyuk was forced to resign. Poroshenko believes that Arseniy Yatsenyuk and his Cabinet made too many mistakes. 10 APR 2016 Arseniy Yatsenyuk has resigned from the post of Prime Minister of Ukraine.

Hobby

Arseniy Yatsenyuk said that his main hobby is to drive a car. Loves to patagate hardware, is engaged on a treadmill. Goes to the gym twice a week. Like to shoot. Has a personal weapon – a few pistols and rifles. Collects coins. Earlier (before the events) preferred to rest in the Crimea.

Scandals

In politics with the name of Arseniy Yatsenyuk is due to several fairly high-profile scandals.
• The people’s Deputy Sergey Kaplin from “Blok Petro Poroshenko” in November of 2014 aimed to deal with the corruption schemes in the public sector. Suspecting the Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk in turning a major Scam, Kaplin made a Deputy request to the Prosecutor General and the SBU to find out: where did the three billion UAH allocated by the government to Finance the mines of the occupied Donbass?
“The thread was pulled” in Makeyevka, controlled by terrorists also. Here, as it turned out, disappeared a few million budgetary hryvnias, allegedly aimed at research projects and some design work. In addition, it was offset by half of the total VAT Renat Akhmetov.
• The people’s Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Serhiy Leshchenko 14 Dec 2015 drew the attention of colleagues in the rejection of between the Chairman of the Odessa regional state administration Miho Saakashvili and Minister of internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov, between which during the meeting of the National Council of reforms emerged hard-hitting verbal sparring. Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk allowed himself to be called Miho “performer” strongly suggesting not “get out of Ukraine”. Is Mikheil Saakashvili said that he is a citizen, but, in contrast to Yatsenyuk, Ukraine is not robbed.
