Ukraine’s exports to Canada for five months grew 37%


The export of Ukrainian goods to Canada in January-may 2018 rose by 37%.

On Wednesday, August 1, announced President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko in his Facebook.

Poroshenko said that from the day of entry into force of the Agreement on free trade between Ukraine and Canada one year has passed. And this, according to him, led to the fact that by the end of 2017, the export of Ukrainian goods increased by 74%.

“And exports of goods continued to grow: in the first five months of this year it has increased by 37%. This increase was the first since 2014. And most importantly, Canada is one of the leading trading partners, but also a good friend of Ukraine”, – said the head of state.

In July, the first Vice Prime Minister – Minister of economic development and trade of Ukraine Stepan Kubiv has discussed with the Minister of international development Canada Marie-Claude Bibo prospects of cooperation. At the meeting the sides noted that Ukraine exported to Canada for five months of this year goods to 26.6 million dollars.
