The former Prime Minister will be tried in absentia

 

General Prosecutor’s office transferred the case of former Prime Minister Mykola Azarov in court. This was announced by Prosecutor General Yury Lutsenko in interview to the Ukrainian truth was released on Tuesday, August 21.

“About the same. We have news. Mr. Azarov has already gone to court in absentia conviction, although who cares,” – said Lutsenko.

In addition, Lutsenko has told about preparation for transfer to the court of indictments against former officials. According to him, already in the autumn, the court may enter the case of the shootings on the Maidan, which I suspect ex-President Viktor Yanukovych and former officials of the interior Ministry and SBU. After that, the Prosecutor will proceed to the deeds of Yanukovych on economic crimes.

We will remind, Mykola Azarov was the Prime Minister during the regime of Yanukovych. He later left Ukraine, where he was a criminal case on charges of abuse of power.

As reported, the deposed President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych has filed a lawsuit to the Pechersk district court of Kyiv against the Prosecutor General of Ukraine and its leader, Yury Lutsenko. The suit is scheduled for September 13.
