The trial of the former head of fraction of Party of regions Alexander Efremov was not allowed to question the head of the Verkhovna Rada Andrew Parubiy video conference and called him again.
The corresponding decision on Monday was accepted by the panel of judges of the district court of Starobilsk in Luhansk region, headed by judge Alexander Pelham.
Questioning Parubiy was planned for 25 April, but he then in court were not asked to question him via video conference.
The Prosecutor’s office appealed to court with the corresponding petition for interrogation via videoconference, on the grounds that Parubiy can’t come to court “in connection with necessity of performance of the functions of head of the Verkhovna Rada”.
“In the opinion of the Board, the request of a witness of the impossibility of his arrival in court in connection with busy schedule of the head of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and the request for his interrogation by videoconference are not… the basis of his questioning as a witness in the mode of video conferencing,” the court ruled.
At the same time, the court called Parubiy for 10 hours on may 31.
