The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has sent another 100 million UAH for the modernization of state-owned mines. The decision was made at a government meeting on Wednesday, August 22.
The government noted that for 6 months of 2018 state mines produced 2 161,5 thousand tons of coal, which is 154,5 thousand tons less than the plan and 208,2 thousand tons less than in corresponding period of 2017. In particular, from 11 mines on the territory controlled by the profit on commodity output received only PAO mine “Hope in the amount of 12.6 million.
Thus, over half the losses the state mines amounted to 1.73 billion hryvnia, which is 199 million less than last year. In this regard, in the mines, there was a deficit of working capital for the purchase of materials and equipment, payment of services and taxes. In addition, not enough money for upgrades.
The Cabinet of Ministers adopted the decision to reallocate 100 million hryvnia, reducing the costs of protection work and improving safety and raising them on the program “State support of coal mining enterprises for partial coverage of cost of finished marketable coal products”.
Recall that the coal-mining enterprises of Ukraine in January-July of 2018, reduced production of raw coal by 9.1% (to 1 million 906,7 thousand tons) compared to the same period in 2017 up to 19 million 142,1 thousand tons.
