Kiev appealed to the ECHR for violations of rights.


The Ministry of justice of Ukraine has prepared and submitted an application to the European court of human rights (ECHR) in connection with the violation of the rights of Ukrainian Director Oleg Sentsov Russia with a request to influence her.

This was announced by the Deputy Minister of justice Ivan Hazel on his page on Facebook on the evening of 21 June.

“In response to the letter to Lyudmila Denisova, the Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada on human rights, which for the second week trying to meet with Oleg Sentsov, the team of the Ministry of justice for the day prepared and filed a statement under Rule 39 of the Rules of the ECHR”, – he wrote.

The Deputy Minister said that the goal of Ukraine – to provide guidance of the ECtHR on Russia:

refraining from any actions that could threaten the life and health of Sentsov; permitting representatives of Ukraine, first authorized BP on human rights Denisova and access to it;

providing information about the state of health Oleg Sentsov.

“The ball is on the side of the court. Waiting for the decision,” said Hazel.
