Fugitive MP Onishchenko call to Ukraine for court


Fugitive MP Oleksandr Onishchenko advised to come to Kyiv for the court that will consider his case.

The head of the Special anti-corruption Prosecutor Nazar Golodnitsky called people’s Deputy of the fugitive Oleksandr Onishchenko to visit Ukraine and to participate in court on the so-called “gas case”.

Holodnitsky noted that the case Onishchenko is completed and then follows the procedure in absentia hearings of production.

“Mr. Onishchenko still recommend to come to Ukraine, because it was said in 2016, that is not going to go anywhere,” said Holodnitsky.

According to the head of SAP, the investigators questioned Onishchenko even when he was on the territory of Ukraine. Holodnitsky also noted that he personally did not participate in this interrogation.

The MP escaped from the Ukraine in the summer of 2016. Parliament gave its consent to the detention Onishchenko and criminal prosecution.

The consequence considers that from 2013 to June 2016 criminal organization illegally received from the sale of gas over UAH 1.6 billion, resulting in a “ukrgazvidobuvannya” suffered losses in excess of $ 740 million.

He is accused of organizing criminal schemes with which he bought the gas from state owned companies and sold their firms at a lower cost.
