The Minister of internal Affairs Arsen Avakov held a meeting with chief Rabbi of Kiev Yonatan Markovich.
On Monday, may 7, the press service of the interior Ministry on his page on the social network Facebook.
During the meeting the sides discussed the recent anti-Semitic scandal in Odessa with the participation of members of the Right sector.
Avakov said that Ukraine is a modern and democratic country, where no place for anti-Semitic appeals, intimidation, discrimination or persecution on ethnic grounds.
“In modern Ukraine it is unacceptable that anyone persecuted for belonging to a different religion, nation or culture. All such criminal acts in a principled and rapid response of law enforcement bodies”, – he said.
